Nick Granata is a writer and musician working in the folk idiom. They are a member of Shovel Dance Collective, with whom they play the pedal organ and sing. In July 2026 they released their debut solo album, My Heart is Running Backwards! A Martial Artist! With a Closed Fist! Woof! via Double Dare. A DIY folk record described by The Quietus as 'a whimsical triumph that weaves the humdrum minutiae of modern life into a rousing and transcendent progressive folk tapestry,' it received ‘album of the week,’ and was an ‘album of the month,’ in the same publication. They also shared a tape release with Dawn Terry on Jacken Elswyth's label Betwixt and Between, Betwixt and Between 10. Some of their most frightening episodes have been at EarTH, the 100 Club, ‘End of the Road’ Festival, Café OTO, Rewired, Supersonic and Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival

They will be playing solo at the 100 Club—supporting Širom—on September 3rd 2026.
